Ch-ch-ch-changes…

I was just thinking about how the times have certainly changed.

I was 18 when I got my first apartment ($310, furnished 1 bedroom) and had a job that paid minimum wage (remember, this is 1989 minimum wage folks).  No license OR car, no boyfriend, no phone, and no cable.  As you could probably imagine, money was tight and the times were hella-boring!

If I wasn’t out walking wherever I needed to go, I was either reading, doodling or playing the family’s Atari system that I inherited when I moved.  I guess you could say that was my first introduction to any type of gaming, if you could call it that.

Many moons later…

Renting a house for way more than $310 and I’ve been working at the same department (within different positions) since 1991.  I got my driver’s license when I was like 22 AND got my vey first car — 1970 Ford Fairmont (piece of crap I might add, but hey it was only $600 bucks).  In 1994 I got my first NEW car — 1994 Mazda Protege) and in 2007 I got my IDEAL car — 2007 MINI Cooper, which is hella-fun).  I got married in 2005 (hugs and wub to my Yoshi), got my first cell phone in 2003-ish , and now have basic/extended cable (but none of the GOOD channels).

As for the gaming now?  Sadly, I no longer have my Atari (R.I.P. my friend) and between Yoshi and I, we have:  2 PSPs, 2 Nintendo DS, PlayStation 2, Wii and a plethora of computers WITH a butt load of games.  Dude, we’re pretty much set for life and I’m SO hooked and completely addicted.

I don’t remember where I was going with this post, I started off in one direction and weaved crazily into another.  Um, go Mariners?
